As a native to central Florida, I'm aware of the standards to which Disney holds their parks, and I didn't think that Disney could exceed my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney parks and I think that everything is nice, I just didn’t think that I could be wowed anymore. I was wrong. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and I knew that we would wake up with a safari outside our window, but I was completely unprepared for the impact of giraffes and zebras just meters away from our balcony. It really felt like I was gazing out into another continent.

The Animal Kingdom was nearly what I expected, and felt very Disney. My daughter was giddy at the animals and loved the colors and sounds of the parade. After the parade we went to see the Finding Nemo production. What I expected was for it to be cute and more importantly, cool. What they delivered was a show that rivaled some stage performances for which I had paid nearly the price of a Disney ticket to attend.

I love it when someone overdelivers on something you already expect to be fantastic. I can’t wait to take my family back in the years to come.
